The Bristol Harbour Festival is an opportunity for Bristol to showcase the rich diversity of its musical and performance talent and to celebrate the city’s maritime heritage. The festival is a large public festival which regularly attracts in excess of 250,000 visitors and is usually held around the end of July / early August for a period of three days, commencing on the Friday and finishing on the Sunday night.

The event, which first started in 1971, takes place over a two mile stretch of Bristol’s waterfront and plays host to a spectacular display of dance, music and party based entertainment, which always proves extremely popular. Within the two mile stretch, is the main stage which is located on Queen square, whilst the quayside offers a whole host of attractions including stunning water displays in addition to tall ships and other seafaring exhibits and displays.

The festival also plays host to a superb firework display that takes place on the Saturday of the event around the beautiful location of the Bristol harbour.
